HOW WE MET
Celeste and Ryan met in the summer of 2019 in Chicago at Spring Awakening Festival, brought together by mutual friends and a shared love for music, travel, and good company. At the time, neither of them knew that a weekend festival would quietly change the course of their lives.
Celeste hadn’t been single for a long time, and when that chapter of her life came to a close, she promised her closest girlfriends that she wouldn’t date for a while. Instead, she focused on enjoying life—traveling, spending time with friends, and going to festivals with no expectations and no plans.
That season lasted about four months, until Celeste and Ryan naturally began spending more time together. What started as an easy friendship slowly grew into something deeper. Not long after, they traveled to New York City with a group of friends and attended another festival together—still without labels, simply enjoying each other’s company and seeing where things might go.
Then came the long drives. For one to two months, Ryan drove eight hours round trip every weekend just to visit Celeste at Virginia Tech. Rain or shine, he showed up—consistently and wholeheartedly.
Finally, during a visit to Washington, D.C., Ryan planned a night that reflected everything they loved. At a revolving restaurant overlooking the city, as the sun set—Celeste’s favorite time of day—he surprised her with a message in a bottle, inspired by their shared love for travel and adventure, that read, “Will you be my girlfriend?” She said yes.
What began as a chance meeting turned into a friendship, then into something steady and intentional. They didn’t rush it—but when they chose each other, they knew.
And the rest, as they say, is their forever.
THE PROPOSAL
Eight years later, on November 8, 2024, Ryan asked Celeste to marry him—right at sunset, exactly as he had always imagined.
He had been planning the moment for a long time, though the secret didn’t stay perfectly hidden. A few things felt off along the way: a best friend suddenly appearing hours away, a sister’s “random” visit home, and one too many stories that didn’t quite add up. Celeste sensed something was coming—but nothing could have prepared her for what awaited.
As the sky softened into dusk by the water—her favorite time of day—Celeste followed a candlelit path scattered with rose petals, each step drawing her closer to Ryan, who waited quietly at the end. Behind him, a heart-shaped floral backdrop glowed with the words “Marry Me,” holding the stillness of the moment.
To begin their next chapter, Ryan offered her another message in a bottle, asking the question that would change everything: “Will you marry me?” Remembering that Celeste had once shared how, in Chinese culture, 99 roses symbolize 长长久久—eternal love and lasting devotion—he presented her with a bouquet of 99 roses, a promise of forever in bloom.
And at sunset, by the water, surrounded by candlelight, Celeste said yes.
FOUND VENUE
Found Venue is a striking contemporary destination in Bangkok that blends classical architectural elements with modern design, featuring sculptural columns and an elegant, art-inspired atmosphere. Developed by a team of Thai designers, it reflects the city’s growing focus on aesthetic-driven, customizable environments, offering a refined setting that harmoniously fuses Western influences with Thai cultural touches.
Design Concept: A design concept by PHTAA Living Design that reinterprets classical architecture through a contemporary lens. The space incorporates columns, capitals, and cornices sourced from a Bangkok stucco workshop, forming a poetic “garden of columns” that creates a dreamlike and intimate atmosphere.
Layout: Carefully organized into a sequence of distinct zones, guiding movement through areas such as a central hall, a photo gallery, and a registry section, all designed with a strong sense of spatial rhythm and visual storytelling.
